Cameron Grimes hasn’t been on TV in months, but he was reportedly present at the February 24 taping of WWE SmackDown.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Grimes was backstage at the February 24 episode of WWE SmackDown. While he didn’t end up appearing on the show, he faced Ashante “Thee” Adonis in a dark match.
For Grimes, this was his first in-ring action since November 2022, where he appeared on an episode of NXT and lost to Joe Gacy. A call-up to the main roster has been rumored for months, but Grimes hasn’t arrived on either RAW or SmackDown yet.
Grimes is a former NXT North American Champion, and he also held the Million Dollar Championship. Before he signed with WWE, he had a prominent run as Trevor Lee in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, where he held the X-Division Champion three times. He also held the TNA World Tag Team Championship with Brian Myers.
