AEW Rampage Results (2/24/23): Young Bucks vs. Aussie Open

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on February 24.

Former NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) faced the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson). Plus, Lance Archer returned to the ring for the first time in months. He had not wrestled on AEW programming since the November 18 episode of AEW Rampage, where he lost to Ricky Starks in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

Elsewhere on the show, Willow Nightingale took on Toni Storm. In the main event, Action Andretti clashed with Sammy Guevara.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Young Bucks (c) defeat Aussie Open via pinfall

In the opening match of the night, the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeated Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher). In a fairly back-and-forth bout, the lights went out late in the match just as the Bucks were getting ready for the Meltzer Driver.

After the lights came back on, Aussie Open quickly took control for a moment, hitting their finisher on Matt Jackson, but Nick made the save before the match could end. Afterward, Mark Davis then accidentally hit Kyle Fletcher with a big slam, allowing the Young Bucks to take over and hit the BTE Trigger on Fletcher for the win after forcing Davis to hit a piledriver on Fletcher thanks to some kicks.

After the match, the lights went out once again, and this time when they came back on, the House of Black was surrounding the ring. After the lights went out again and came back, however, they were gone.

Backstage segment: The Gunns

In a backstage interview with Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta, the duo were attacked by Big Bill, Lee Moriarty, and The Gunns. Afterward, Orange Cassidy and Danhausen checked on them to make sure they were okay.

Match 2: Toni Storm defeats Willow Nightingale via pinfall

Storm started the match by attacking Nightingale from behind before the opening bell. After things finally got to the ring, Storm continued to take advantage of her early attack. As things winded down, Nightingale nearly walked out with a win after hitting the Death Valley for a near fall.

However, Saraya quickly got on the apron to distract the ref, and after Nightingale threw her over the rope, Storm quickly hit the Storm Zero for the pin and win.

After the match, Storm and Saraya continued to attack Nightingale, forcing Ruby Soho to come running out for the save. Storm and Saraya tried to run off, but were met by Jamie Hayter, who chased Saraya around before attacking her and chasing her into the back.

Backstage segment: The Acclaim

The group talked trash about Jeff Jarrett and his crew backstage, before Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt all appeared and ambushed the champs. Despite getting a few hits in, The Acclaimed were no match, and got a beatdown.

Match 3: Lance Archer defeats Bryce Saturn via pinfall

In a pretty quick match, Archer — debuting a new look — defeated Saturn with a big lariat for the pin and win.

Promo: Dustin Rhodes & Keith Lee

After saving Rhodes and returning to AEW last week, Lee was back again with Rhodes, with the pair saying they planned on defeating Swerve Strickland and Parker Boudreaux next week.

Match 4: Sammy Guevara defeats Action Andretti via pinfall

In the final match of the night, Andretti dominated most of the bout, but was unable to put things away, especially with a big 450 splash onto the floor in the middle of the match.

Late in the match, however, Daniel Garcia appeared, and clotheslined Andretti as he was going for a moonsault. With the referee not watching, this allowed Guevara to hit the GTH for the pin and win.
