KUSHIDA Looks Forward To Facing Josh Alexander, Wants To Help NJPW Grow In America

KUSHIDA is excited to challenge Josh Alexander for the IMPACT World Championship.

The two stars will clash at “Multiverse United”, a show that will be co-promoted by IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling on March 30. KUSHIDA returned to NJPW in 2022, and he has also been wrestling on IMPACT programming in recent months, while Alexander is in the midst of a record-breaking title reign.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated,  KUSHIDA looked ahead to his looming match with Alexander. He reflected on his history with IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore and stated that he has wanted to wrestle for the company for years. The NJPW star also noted that Alexander is his favorite type of wrestler.

“Challenging top wrestlers is one of my lifeworks,” KUSHIDA said through a translator. “I stayed in Windsor, Canada, in 2009, and Scott D’Amore took care of me from start to finish. From then on, I really wanted to wrestle in TNA, which is now IMPACT. I know the history of the company. Their champion, Josh Alexander, is also my favorite type of wrestling fighter, so I’m ready to fight for his championship.”
