Matt Hardy: If I Had One Suggestion For Tony Khan, I’d Focus More On Storytelling And Characters In AEW

Matt Hardy has a piece of advice for Tony Khan when it comes to All Elite Wrestling if he’s willing to listen to it.

During a special subscriber-exclusive edition of AdFreeShows.com‘s The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt was asked if he could give one piece of advice to Tony Khan about All Elite Wrestling; what would it be? Hardy said he would like to see a little more storytelling to highlight the character’s journey on the roster.

“I think if I had one suggestion for Tony Khan, I think I would try and focus a little more on the storytelling of the different characters really highlight every character’s journeys a lot more,” Matt Hardy said. “I think it’s still very important. I know it’s a very sports-centric driven program. AEW Dynamite — they want the matches to be of the best quality and the utmost quality, and I totally respect that.

“But I feel like professional wrestling, a very big part of it is the sportsmanship and the showmanship and just like having characters that the crowd is connected to that they’re emotionally invested in, that have this journey that you want to follow. You want to see what’s going to happen next. And you’re really worried about where the story is going to go. Are they going to succeed? Are they going to fail?

“What did they have to overcome? What obstacles lay in their path? I just would like to add a little bit more of that into all the amazing wrestling that happens week in and week out on AEW. There’s been some great stories. I would like to incorporate more of that for all characters from the top of the roster to the bottom of the roster.”
