Mercedes Varnado is making moves.
BreAnna Bell of Variety reports that Varnado, also known as Mercedes Moné, has signed with UTA for representation in all areas. Per Bell, the agency will “help Varnado “secure new opportunities across film, television, theater and more.”
The former Sasha Banks kicked off her acting career in 2019 when she was cast in The Mandalorian; she played Koska Reeves in season two. She has also appeared on several shows, including Barmageddon on USA Network, and she is set to appear on an upcoming episode of “Bar Rescue”. In January 2022, Varnado was cast in the film, The Collective.
Varnado and her tag team partner Trinity Fatu (formerly known as Naomi) walked out of the May 16 episode of WWE RAW. They were stripped of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and suspended indefinitely. Varnado later left the company and made her debut for New Japan Pro-Wrestling at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. She defeated KAIRI to win the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle in the Valley.
