Cesar Duran believes Major League Wrestling has a bright future.
Speaking with Scott Fishman for SEScoops, Duran discussed the growth of MLW. The company has been generating some buzz in recent weeks due to the premiere of MLW Underground on REELZ, and Duran expressed his confidence that MLW is just getting started.
“You get the feeling everyone wants to make this a big thing,” Duran said. “I think it’s going to go to big places.”
On the February 21 episode of MLW Underground, John Hennigan arrived and joined forces with Duran. They have plenty of history, dating back to Lucha Underground. Like Taya Valkyrie, Hennigan has reunited with Duran in MLW, and the former Dario Cueto stated that others from Lucha Underground have also indicated their interest.
“I feel like I grew up with them,” Duran said. “…Everyone on Lucha Underground wants to come with us, even those from WWE. When they knew I joined MLW they called. I think you know who I’m talking about.”
Duran also commented on the differences between Cueto and his current character.
“All I learned about wresting I did through Dario Cueto and Lucha Underground,” Duran said. “… This character is not Dario Cueto. Cesar Duran has his own visions. I think Dario Cueto was more devilish. I was literally the devil reincarnated.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Duran detailed how he incorporates his acting background into his work in the wrestling world.
