New IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné revealed that Triple H and William Regal both texted her ahead of her NJPW match over the weekend to show their support and wish her luck.
In a newly released documentary, which you can see here, Mercedes said “I got a very nice text from Triple H. And still it’s crazy that I got an amazing text from William Regal this morning,” Monè said while crying. “I can’t believe how many people support me in this. I’m so f******* happy.” She also had the support of many close friends that were there to see her big win in person. That list includes Bayley, Naomi, Tamina, and Kalisto.
Moné is the second-ever IWGP Women’s Champion after defeating the inaugural champ KAIRI over the weekend. Monè also did plenty of media prior to the match and was asked by ESPN if she has ruled out returning to WWE. She said “I guess people like to say ‘never say never.’ You never know in life. I never knew life would take me here, but I always follow my heart so wherever my heart takes me is where I’m going to go.” You can see more on that interview below.
