JD McDonagh will be on the shelf due to an injury for the short-term future.
On February 10, the NXT star took to Twitter to announce that he suffered a detached retina in his right eye, and he estimates a recovery time of between 10 and 14 days. He noted that the injury happened after Ilja Dragunov attacked him on the February 7 episode of NXT. On Tuesday night, McDonagh faced and lost to Carmelo Hayes. Near the end of the bout, Dragunov came to ringside, making his return in the process, and Hayes scored the win amid the chaos.
.@WWENXT fans attending Live Events in Tampa/Citrus Springs this weekend – Unfortunately, after a sneak attack on Tuesday, I've got a detached retina in my right eye.
Waiting on a treatment plan, but I estimate a 10-14 day recovery time.
