The company previously held “The House Always Wins”, its first non-televised live event, on April 9, 2021. AEW will kick off its House Rules series of non-televised live events with a show on March 18 in Troy, Ohio.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, several talent they knew something like the House Rules series was coming, and one indicated that some wrestlers have pushed for it. Per one source, they would prefer to work for AEW and get reps in there rather than elsewhere. One source also shared their belief that the house shows will benefit the younger and/or more inexperienced talent, and having these live events could help them grow. The source noted that being able to have longer matches at the live events, as opposed to typically short matches on AEW, will help them.
Sapp also noted that the talent expected the house shows to be filmed, which is the usual procedure for major companies, but it’s unclear whether they will be aired in some capacity.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
