Roman Reigns Set To Appear On 2/3 WWE SmackDown, Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match Announced

Roman Reigns will return to the blue brand on Friday night.

WWE has confirmed that “The Tribal Chief” will be on the February 3 episode of WWE SmackDown, just a few days after the shocking conclusion of the WWE Royal Rumble premium live event.

After Reigns defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, The Bloodline viciously attacked the fan-favorite. Sami Zayn refused to participate and instead turned on Reigns by hitting him with a chair. The Bloodline then ganged up on Zayn and left him lying to close the show. Plus, Reigns’ opponent for WrestleMania has been announced, as Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and set his sights on “The Head of the Table.”

The announcement, courtesy of WWE’s official website, is as follows:

In the wake of the catastrophic events at Royal Rumble in which an overwhelmed Sami Zayn hit Roman Reigns with a steel chair and The Bloodline, minus a conflicted Jey Uso, launched a major retaliatory beatdown on The Honorary Uce, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is set to return to SmackDown.

How will The Head of the Table react to the unprecedented turmoil that has rocked The Bloodline? Will Reigns have any response to Cody Rhodes after the Royal Rumble winner addressed their WrestleMania title showdown? Will The Island of Relevancy ever be the same? Don’t miss all the action of SmackDown this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.

Elsewhere on the show, Shotzi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, and Zelina Vega will face off in a qualifying bout for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, where the winner will earn a shot at the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

From WWE:

With four pods filled in the high-stakes Feb. 18 Elimination Chamber Match for a Raw Women’s Title Match when WrestleMania Goes Hollywood, Natalya, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler and Zelina Vega are poised to square off in a Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Fatal 4-Way Match on the blue brand. Find out who will win the right to step into the career-altering structure at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. Don’t miss all the action of SmackDown, this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.

As previously announced, Charlotte Flair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sonya Deville on Friday night, and Imperium will battle Braun Strowman and Ricochet in the finals of the Contender’s Title Tournament.
