The wrestling world has lost another legend as former WWE Superstar The Genius Lanny Poffo has passed away at the age of 68.
WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan took to social media to break the unfortunate news this morning, tweeting out:
“With a very, very heavy heart, I’ve been asked to let everyone know about the passing of our friend and colleague Lanny Poffo, The Genius. RIP Lanny,” Hacksaw Jim Duggan said.
Poffo, the brother of “Macho Man” Randy Savage, is best known for his character, “The Genius”, that he portrayed during a point in his WWE run from 1985 to 1992. Poffo was also known as “Leaping Lanny” during his career and also worked in WCW, Mid-South, and the National Wrestling Alliance throughout his 30+ year career. His cause of death is unknown at this time.
