Has Dave Bautista finally stumbled upon his perfect role for James Gunn’s upcoming DC Studios movie reboot?
ComicBook’s Chris Killian recently pitched an idea for the former WWE Superstar to portray the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming DCU cinematic reboot.
Bautista, who recently shot down the idea of playing Bane due to his age was seemingly blown away by this suggestion and replied to Killian on Instagram, stating the following:
“*Shocked face emoji* I never thought about that! And now I’m not going be able to stop thinking about it. *Grinning devil emoji*,” Dave Bautista responded on Instagram.

Speaking to ComicBook.com’s Liam Crowley at the Knock at the Cabin red carpet world premiere, Bautista elaborated, noting the side-by-side image of himself next to Luthor from Superman: The Animated Series got him thinking.
“I just never thought about playing that character. As soon as I saw that picture of myself next to Lex Luthor, I was like, ‘Man, that’s really interesting,'” Bautista continued. “It’s interesting to me. I’d be totally up for that, James Gunn.”
James Gunn is rumored to be revealing the first projects for DC Studios in the near future.
