Rhea Ripley Says She Temporarily Dislocated Her Knee At WWE Royal Rumble

WWE’s two Royal Rumble #1 entrants made quite the impression last night as both Gunther and Rhea Ripley lasted until the very end of their respective matches.

On the women’s side of things, Ripley became the first woman in WWE history to enter the Rumble at #1 and win, also breaking a record for the longest time inside of a single Rumble match. However, it was not all positive, as Ripley stated after the show that she temporarily dislocated her knee. However, she noted that she felt fine after the bout.

“I’m obviously beat up. My knees aren’t very good in general,” Ripley said at the Royal Rumble post-show press conference. “My knee did dislocate for a second, and then it went back in. I’m feeling good now, and because of all my emotions, I’m just excited, so I’m blocking out everything else. If anything, I can smell blood in my nose, and that’s definitely there, but my knee is good.”

On the men’s side of things, Gunther set a new record for the most time inside of a single Royal Rumble match. Gunther spent 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 35 seconds in the Royal Rumble Match before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes to end the match.
