Mandy Rose: I’m The Only One Watching Out For Myself And My Career

Mandy Rose was caught off guard by her sudden WWE release, but she’s been making the best out of a bad situation.

Former WWE Superstar Mandy Rose recently sat down with Jeanette Settembre of the New York Post to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the abrupt decision that was made for her to drop the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez prior to their originally scheduled bout at New Year’s Evil, Rose said the entire situation completely took her off guard.

“For me to lose the title on such a whim on a random Tuesday night with zero storytelling and zero promotion leading up to the match was a shocker. I was very caught off guard,” Mandy Rose said. “Of course I was disappointed. But the emotions really set in after the match.”

While Mandy Rose wasn’t told the reason for her release, she wonders what the definition of racy photos should be. Pointing to her double championship photo poolside as something that was considered okay enough by WWE standards to openly promote on their social media and television programming.

“What’s the definition of racy? The photo of me with two titles – I was completely naked underneath, that’s considered a racy photo, right?” Mandy Rose said.

Mandy went on to say if WWE would have given her proper warning she might have considered taking down her FanTime account. Things worked out for Rose, however, as she made a million dollars in a few short weeks with her website.

“I am grateful and very humbled with everything I’ve done and made at the company [WWE], but in today’s day and age, there are so many other avenues and so many other marketing opportunities, it’s like why can’t I do both?” Mandy Rose said. “At the end of the day I’m the only one watching out for myself and my career. Everyone’s replaceable in our business – it’s true.”
