The NXT Tag Team Championship will be on the line at NXT Vengeance Day.
On the January 17 episode of NXT, The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) announced that they would be defending the gold against Gallus at the show. But Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) interrupted and staked their claim to a title shot. The confrontation led to a three-way brawl and the subsequent announcement that the New Day will defend the titles against both teams.
The New Day have held the NXT Tag Team Championship since they dethroned Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) at NXT Deadline.

The updated card is as follows:
- Steel Cage Match for the NXT Championship: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller
- NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (v) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne
- NXT North American Championship: Wes Lee vs. Dijak
- NXT Tag Team Championship: he New Day vs. Gallus vs. Pretty Deadly
