Josh Alexander Beats Bully Ray, Retains IMPACT World Title At IMPACT Hard To Kill

Josh Alexander went to the extreme at IMPACT Hard To Kill.

At IMPACT Hard To Kill, Alexander defended the IMPACT World Championship against Bully Ray in a Full Metal Mayhem Match. The rivalry between the two men had grown increasingly personal since Ray returned at Bound For Glory and won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet to earn a title shot. Ray later cashed in that opportunity for the right to challenge Alexander for the gold.

Bully Ray took the fight to Alexander before the match even started, as he attacked the champion during his entrance. He continued the assault by powerbombing Alexander for a two count. He continued to control the action, and he busted Alexander wide open. The champion rallied using a number of weapons, and he even punished Ray with a cheese grater. He used several other weapons, including a chair, and he made Ray bleed as well. Ray sent the champion crashing off a ladder and onto a bed of tacks.

Alexander kept fighting, and he trapped Ray in an ankle lock. He then used a chain to maximize the impact, but John Skyler and Jason Hotch ran out to make the save. They ganged up on Alexander with Ray, and the trio hit the champion with a 3D. Tommy Dreamer came to the ring and made the save, but Ray speared him through a table. Ray then smashed Alexander with a garbage can. Alexander’s wife Jade Chung came to the ring and distracted ay. She hit him below the belt and dropped him with a Sliced Bread #2. Alexander then blasted Ray with a chair and laid him out on a table and hit a splash for a two count. The champion clinched the win by making Ray tap out to the Ankle Lock.

Alexander celebrated with Jade after the match.
