Braun Strowman will wear special boots to honor a victim of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack.
On November 6, 2021, six people were killed, and 62 others were injured, when Darrell E. Brooks Jr. drove a vehicle through the annual Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
The Green Bay Packers shared a clip of Strowman discussing his collaboration with the team. The former WWE Universal Champion described how the tragedy reminded him of how special life is, and how important it is to support one’s community. He then stated that he found out that one of the victims wanted to meet him. Strowman went on to describe how he has teamed up with the Packers to have a custom pair of boots made, which he will wear in honor of the victim on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. The boots will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to the Waukesha Christmas Parade Foundation.
“Unfortunately, last year there was a travesty in the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin, in the Christmas parade,” Strowman said. “Hearing and seeing what awful things happened there last year, it reminded me of how special life really is and how important it is to support your community. I found out that one of the young men that passed away, one of his things that he always wanted to do was meet his wrestling hero, Braun Strowman. That really spoke to me more and told me how I needed to do more for these people and this family.
“So I had an awesome opportunity to work with the Green Bay Packers, and I’ve had a custom pair of boots made, so I will wear those while I’m here on January 13, representing WWE. Those boots that I’m wearing are gonna be auctioned off, and all the proceeds are gonna be donated to the Waukesha Christmas Parade foundation. I really want to say thank you to everyone that tries to bid on these boots and help a good cause. At the end of the day, I want to leave the world a little better than I found it, and each and every one of you can help do that right now, and thank you.”
