WWE RAW Viewership Increases On 1/9, Demo Also Rises

WWE RAW viewership saw an increase on January 9 against the college football national championship, which featured a tag team gauntlet match to decide the number one contenders for the RAW Tag Team Titles.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, 1.693 million viewers tuned in on Monday, which is up from last week (1.605 million viewers.) These numbers are incredibly impressive based on the competition WWE went up against last night.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, RAW scored a 0.50, which is also up from last week (0.41 rating.)

With the college football national championship dominating cable last night on ESPN, RAW took the sixth, seventh, and ninth spots in the demographic among cable originals on Monday night. With hour two taking the top spot of the three hours this week.

The hourly breakdown is as follows:

  • First hour: 1.766 million viewers, 0.52 in the 18 to 49 demographic
  • Second hour: 1.799 million viewers, 0.53 in the 18 to 49 demographic
  • Third hour: 1.512 million viewers, 0.46 in the 18 to 49 demographic

This week’s episode opened with a promo from Kevin Owens that was interrupted by JBL and Baron Corbin, this led to a match that saw Kevin Owens defeat Baron Corbin. The main event saw The Judgment Day win a tag team gauntlet match to earn a shot at the RAW Tag Team Titles currently held by The Usos.
