Jeff Jarrett believes All Elite Wrestling has something special with Satnam Singh.
Jarrett arrived in AEW on he November 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, and he aligned with Singh, Jeff Jarrett, and Sonjay Dutt. The quartet has been featured on AEW programming somewhat consistently ever since. On both the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite and on AEW Battle of the Belts V, Jarrett and Lethal unsuccessfully challenged The Acclaimed for the AEW World Tga Team Championship.
Speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Jarrett discussed his arrival in AEW and noted that he has plenty of history with Lethal, as they have been close for years. He stated that the two of them are close with Dutt, and the trio reunited during Ric Flair’s Last Match. The legend then called Singh a “one-in-a-billion-talent”.
“I’ve been a huge Jay fan, way, way back,” Jarrett said. “For us to have that opportunity with Ric Flair’s last match, we were in the dressing room before we went out and me and Jay kind of had this connection and just looked at each other and said ‘What do you think?’ and he goes, ‘Look at us,’ after all these years. Sonjay flew down, which was really cool for that. He wanted to be there and the three of us had been tight and then Karen walked in the room and she knows how tight we are. We kind of had a corny, quasi-special moment before we went out, but it was cool.
“So yeah, me and Jay, we got the chemistry in the ring. And I think the whole group with Satnam, who is truly a one-in a-billion talent. I think there’s so much upside with him. Then Sonjay and the pencil, I think there’s some good chemistry between the four of us.
Jarrett went on to bring up other monster heels in the history of wrestling. He referenced a quote he heard from baseball manager Dusty Baker and noted that blockbuster movies have leading actors, but they also have scene-stealers and journeymen. The WWE Hall of Famer expressed his gratitude for being part of the group before he emphasized that he believes Singh is a special talent.
“Dusty Baker’s a baseball manager, and I heard him say, ‘When you look at blockbuster Hollywood movies, they always have the leading actor. But man you have those scene-stealers, you got the journeyman actor that’s in everything, just kind of the glue,'” Jarrett said. “At this stage of my career, I am so grateful to be a part of it, and just the other day, a conversation was going on, and I said, ‘Hold on, you’re not gonna find another seven-foot-give guy.’ I said, ‘There is something unique.
“We can go back to Giant Gonzalez and a few other seven-footers. He’s got a basketball background, which means his footwork is there. So I am the biggest Satnam fan in the world. I think there’s so much upside. You’ve seen Khali’s success in India, but I just think Satnam is on another level athletically, he’s bilingual, got great lineage. I’m really bullish on him, so I feel I’m lucky to be a part of the group that I’m with because Jay’s highly decorated. I think as a unit, collectively, one plus one plus one plus one is a lot more than four. Like your Jericho Appreciation Society. Y’all together as a group is great today and even better for tomorrow as those kids develop.”
Singh has competed several times on Dark and Dark Elevation, and he has also had two tag team matches on AEW Rampage. He continues to train, and Dutt recently noted that his first singles match is coming soon.
