Report: WWE Has Been Interested In NJPW Star Hikuleo

WWE is reportedly interested in Hikuleo, another former member of Bullet Club.

On the October 10 episode of WWE RAW, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows returned to the company, while Finn Balor and AJ Styles have been established members of the roster for several years. A new report suggests that WWE has an eye on another talent from NJPW.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE higher-ups have internally expressed interest in Hikuleo, and this has been the sentiment for “months”. Alongside this reported interest, NJPW has booked a “Loser Leaves Japan” match between Jay White and Hikuleo; “Switchblade” issued the challenge after he attacked the powerhouse at the “New Year Dash!!” event on January 5. The match has not been confirmed yet, and it’s unclear when it would take place.

Sapp also noted that it’s currently unknown whether WWE has been in contact with Hikuleo. Likewise, it’s unclear when his contract with NJPW is up, but as with Dragon Lee’s signing, “intermediaries” have been used to express WWE’s interest to talent in a number of cases.

In addition to his run in NJPW, Hikuleo has made appearances for IMPACT Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. He is also a member of a wrestling family; Haku is his nephew, and Tama Tonga is his brother.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
