Karl Anderson comments on his loss at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
After Anderson returned to WWE on the October 10 episode of WWE RAW, his status with NJPW had been unclear, especially after he didn’t compete as originally advertised at NJPW Battle Autumn on November 5 due to being booked for Crown Jewel on the same day. He later competed at the NJPW event on December 14, where he defeated Hikuleo. NJPW and WWE then reportedly reached an agreement for Anderson to compete at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
“Machine Gun” defended the NEVER Openweight Championship at the show on January 4, and he lost the title to Tama Tonga.
In the aftermath of the show, Anderson thanked Tonga and NJPW. He expressed his admiration for Japan and the fans before he wrote, “See you down the road.”
Thank You @Tama_Tonga , thank you @njpw1972 .
Few will understand the love and admiration I have for the country, fans and the people of Japan. Thank U.
