Darby Allin On Upcoming TNT Title Match With Samoa Joe In Seattle: It’s A Full Circle Moment

Darby Allin hopes to become a two-time TNT Champion in his hometown of Seattle this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.

Former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin recently sat down with Shawn Garrett of KIRO 7 News to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about getting another shot at current champion Samoa Joe on AEW Dynamite this week in Seattle, Allin called the match a full-circle moment for him.

“It’s a full circle moment, going into Wednesday. It’s insane to think about,” Darby Allin said. “This journey of wrestling, all these sacrifices… it’s like you don’t really stop and smell the roses, but this is our first time here.”

Allin got a pep talk from The Icon Sting Friday night on AEW Rampage. The WCW legend took Darby under his wing in All Elite Wrestling, and Allin is grateful for that.

“It’s a crazy feeling,” Darby Allin said. “[Sting] is super humble, he’s the best.”

It’s clear that Allin has the ear of All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan, who he convinced to sign an upcoming independent wrestler from Seattle named Nick Wayne before he turns 18.

“To have that moment with him and to be there from the start,” Darby Allin said. “I would take him to skate parks when we were younger and all those things. It’s crazy. It’s cool to see the journey, especially for him. I remember when his dad passed away, it was two days later and he was training in the ring and posting videos of himself training and I always thought that was the craziest thing. This kid lives for this.”
