Report: Dragon Lee Signed Three-Year Contract With WWE For More Than ‘Standard NXT-Level’ Money

A new report shines some light on Dragon Lee‘s WWE contract.

On December 28, Lee announced that he signed with WWE, following his match at AAA Noche De Campeones, where he and Dralistico defeated FTR to win the company’s tag title.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Lee’s WWE deal is above the typical money performers make in NXT, but it’s not “main roster money.” Per Meltzer, it’s believed that Lee is the highest-paid wrestler in NXT in the aftermath of Mandy Rose’s release. He stated that Lee has a three-year deal that comes with pay increases. In the report, Meltzer wrote that Lee was given “the hope and certainly the feeling” that he would have a main roster contract and get called up in 2024. Additionally, Meltzer noted that Lee received an offer from AEW.

A subsequent clarification noted that Lee is the second-highest performer in NXT, behind Apollo Crews.

Lee previously competed on the August 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he, RUSH, and Andrade El Idolo lost to Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. He also faced RUSH at ROH Final Battle. In recent months, he has worked for AAA and The Crash, among other promotions. Lee is a former ROH World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Television Champion. He has held the World Welterweight and Lightweight titles in CMLL, and he won the the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship during his time with NJPW.
