Rich Swann Wants A Rematch With Kenny Omega: Don’t Be Scared, Let’s Run It Back

Rich Swann has a special message for “The Cleaner.”

The concept of the “Forbidden Door” has heavily influenced major booking decisions in the past two years. One of the prime examples involved several talents bridging between IMPACT Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. In April 2021, IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann battled AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a Winner Takes All match. Ultimately, Omega emerged victorious, taking home both championships in the process.

In a recent appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Swann spoke about his “unfinished business” with Omega. “We never got our rematch, you know what I’m saying? I know that big door is still open. Your boy Kaz[arian] just had a world title shot at IMPACT against Josh [Alexander], and he’s a part of AEW.”

“Kenny, this is a message to you. Don’t be scared. I know you beat me, but hey, don’t be scared. Let’s run it back… I think Tony [Khan] scared [too],” he said.

Besides a rematch against Kenny Omega, Swann discussed his other goals for the upcoming new year. “I want to do something that has been on my mind for a while and that is become a Grand Slam champion at IMPACT Wrestling. Of course, I’d like to become World Champion again. I would love to find a tag team partner and get these tag team titles. Scratch that off my list.”

“I’d love to have Willie Mack with me by my side. That’s my partner. Either Willie Mack or Ricochet. Those are my two guys. We’ve made a lot of history together. To have that, that right there would be the ultimate. That would put me up there with guys like AJ Styles, with guys like Sting, with guys like Booker or Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe. That would put me up there with that list. To be in there, like ‘god dang,’ I did something with my life.”
