Sol Ruca Discusses Going Viral, Wants To Bring A Different Style To The Women’s Division

Sol Ruca discusses going viral following her memorable spot on WWE NXT Level Up.

On the December 9 episode of NXT Level Up, Ruca generated plenty of buzz when she hit Valentina Feroz with an acrobatic cutter, which she called the Sol Snatcher. The clip of the maneuver started making waves on social media, and even WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H noticed, as he wrote that the future is “SO bright”.

In an interview with FOX News, Ruca shared her thoughts on the reaction to the move. She noted that she was particularly blown away by Triple H’s acknowledgement and stated that she was shocked, given the fact that the match was on NXT Level Up.

“When I saw that I literally didn’t even know what to do,” Ruca said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, do I reply to him? Do I quote tweet?’ Like, I was freaking out. It’s like insane. Especially it being on Level Up, which is like the development of NXT. It was crazy. I did not expect it to go viral. I was shocked.”

Ruca also commented on her goals in NXT and expressed her intent to bring a different style and different level of competitiveness.

I really want to kind of set a bar for the women’s division,” Ruca said. “I kind of want to bring a different style and different level of competitiveness. Same with Katana Chance. She is so different from everyone else, like her moves is so different. And I think that there needs to be more women out there in the women’s division that can do those sort of moves and stuff like that. I want to be a part of that.”

Ruca (Calyx Hampton) debuted on the July 15 episode of NXT Level Up. Before she signed with WWE in 2022, she was a member of the University of Oregon’s Acrobatics & Tumbling team.
