Sasha Banks is shaping up to have a big year in 2023.
According to a new report from F4WOnline.com (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), Sasha Banks has a current agreement with New Japan Pro-Wrestling but that also includes an appearance on a Stardom event. That date is not confirmed but it is likely reserved for the major show Stardom is planning for April.
It was recently reported that Banks negotiated a deal with New Japan that paid her even more per event than Chris Jericho got for his respective appearances, but Jericho said the figure being reported is incorrect. F4W said sources close to the situation couldn’t confirm the figure, but said Banks’ agreement was a “huge per-event deal.”
For the record, the money I reportedly made during my run with @njpw1972 from 2018-2020 online currently is completely wrong. I never had a flat per appearance deal, I was paid according to the event. And I made more per event than I did for MOST of my Wrestlemania matches.

Sasha Banks will be able to wrestle starting in January, as she negotiated her release with WWE over the summer. Fightful reported Banks’ release was settled earlier this year, confirming an initial report from Wrestling Inc’s Raj Giri. Fightful’s report also noted that Banks’ WWE release includes a clause that wouldn’t allow her to appear in any wrestling-related events until January 1, 2023. The New Japan deal came together at the end of November and she’s scheduled to appear at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4.
In regards to Banks’ negotiations with WWE, F4W’s Dave Meltzer said that she was “seeking a number along the levels of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair” and was offered a number that was not close to it. Meltzer added that WWE sources said Banks is not seen within the company as “somebody who would be on top for the next five years.”
