It sounds as if EC3 and Dixie Carter were close to making some magic on-screen once more.
During an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, EC3 spoke about his on-air connection to Dixie Carter. EC3 started as Dixie’s kayfabe nephew in IMPACT Wrestling, and it was convincing enough that co-host Dennis Farrell noted there was an argument that Dixie/EC3 was one of the most successful “familial ties” in wrestling. EC3 said he was proud to work with Dixie but said she’s been ghosting him as of late.
“Inside note – I’m currently in Nashville, we have some NWA tapings tomorrow and I texted my dear sweet Aunt. ‘Hey, I don’t know if you’re around but I’m in town. I don’t know if you want to grab a coffee, maybe have a glass of wine and a steak…’ and she did not respond. I know! Shocking news, Aunt D fades EC3’s texts. I’m on her cancelled list too, so be it.”
EC3 said he was honored to be ranked so high on that particular list because no one else really made it work well, then shared that he recently tried to work with Dixie again.
“Kudos to the chemistry of Aunt D and I. We’ve had some good times and hopefully she returns my texts,” EC3 quipped.
“Here’s one — when I had the gigantic ambitions to do a huge tour [with Control Your Narrative] with absolutely no infrastructure, I had this idea to do a parody press conference about the tour,” EC3 added. “[I wanted to] talk about how I’ve done this on my own and I’m self-financed, we had no backing, nobody helped us. We got here on our blood, sweat and tears, grit, going through the mud to get ourselves in this position, but I also … I do want to announce I now have a majority investor and here’s my Aunt. I thought that would probably get a great reaction and shock some people but it never happened because we didn’t have the tour.”
