Tony Khan: There Will Be A Lot Of Christmas Spirit On AEW TV In The Holiday Season

Tony Khan says AEW programming will aim to spread Christmas cheer this holiday season.

During the ROH Final Battle media conference call, Khan detailed how the past few months have been quite difficult for him and his family, as his mother suffered two strokes. She also had heart surgery, and she has come out on the other side. With that in mind, Khan stated that her recovery is a Christmas miracle for his family, and he wants to spread Christmas cheer. The AEW President stated that nobody loves Christmas more than his mom, and so AEW programming will have plenty of the Christmas spirit throughout the holiday season.

“The stuff I was talking about before also, in relation to my personal life and my family, I am today, I kid you not? I am truly filled with the Christmas spirit,” Khan said. “This is, to my family, the biggest Christmas miracle that my mom came out of this okay because it was a really scary situation.

“From the uncertainty we had, even just weeks ago and especially months ago, we’ve come so far and it’s been so great. Nobody loves Christmas more than my mom, so starting tonight through the holiday season, there’s gonna be a lot of Christmas on the show and a lot or Christmas spirit.”

Khan went on to say that he feels like Billy Murray in Scrooged, as he has a new lease on life, wrestling, and everything. Ahead of the December 7 episode of AEW Dynamite, Khan expressed his excitement for the show and joked that he hopes AEW Dynamite will help fans get their fill of Christmas.

“I’m excited for the show and I’m excited to kick off the Christmas season tonight on AEW Dynamite. Hopefully nobody will have a need for Hallmark on these Wednesday nights and they’ll get all their fill of Christmas on AEW.”
