The finals of the SmackDown World Cup were held on the December 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, and the tournament ended in a thrilling way.
In the finals, Ricochet defeated Santos Escobar in a hard-fought match. Legado Del Fantasma was ejected from ringside fairly into the bout, leaving the two competitors on their own, and the former WWE Intercontinental Champion clinched the win with the 630 Splash.
With the win, Ricochet earned a shot at Gunther’s WWE Intercontinental Championship. The match will be held on the December 16 episode of SmackDown.

Ricochet defeated Mustafa Ali and Braun Strowman to advance to the finals. On the other side of the bracket, Escobar beat Shinsuke Nakamura and Butch before the finals.
