Lacey Evans is going back to basics.
During the December 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, a vignette teased Evans’ return. The video heavily leaned into her background as a marine. She was shown running and training alongside other marines. A narrator stated that she is a product of the most elite training force in the world. The voiceover noted that something had to change, as a marine went back to basics.

Evans has inconsistently appeared on WWE TV since Triple H took over as the head of creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement in July. She competed in a six-pack challenge match on the November 11 episode of WWE SmackDown, but she hasn’t been seen since. She also competed on two episodes of WWE SmackDown in September (both losses). Otherwise, she hadn’t wrestled on WWE TV since the Money in the Bank premium live event in July, though she competed at several live events during the summer.
