Robert Roode Shares Update After Neck Fusion Surgery

Robert Roode took to Instagram to share that he recently underwent neck fusion surgery.

Roode, who has been out since June, shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed on Instagram. In the message, Roode thanked Dr. Andy Cordover and his staff at Andrews Sports Medicine and the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He also revealed that he had undergone fusion surgery, with his C5/6 vertebrae fused together.

Roode previously visited Birmingham, Alabama in September, where he mentioned that he had met with Southlake Orthopaedics and Andrews Sports Medicine for an undetermined reason. Whether or not it was for a separate procedure is unknown, but it seems like surgery was the best route for Roode to take. In the post on Instagram, Roode said that he would now begin the road to recovery and rehabilitation, and that he was “looking forward to the challenge.”

Robert Roode hasn’t wrestled since a June 25 live event against Omos. His last televised match came as an entrant in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 1 episode of SmackDown.
