Alex Riley Set To Compete In First Wrestling Match Since 2016

Former WWE Superstar Alex Riley is preparing to step back into the squared circle for the first time since 2016.

Alex Riley hasn’t wrestled since April 2016; when he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura on an episode of WWE NXT, he was released by the company the following month.

But he’s getting back into the ring for a good cause as Create A Pro Wrestling announced this week that Riley will team up with current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus to take on VBU at their 2022 Holiday Toy Drive on December 8.

If you want to see this match live, it will take place at the Knights of Columbus in Lynbrook, New Jersey. Instead of buying tickets, donating two brand-new wrestling toys will grant you entrance into the venue.

According to a new update from Fightful Select, Alex Riley had told people recently that he wanted to give pro wrestling another shot. It was noted that Riley was in contact with NWA World Heavyweight Champion, who sent him to the Create-A-Pro wrestling school owned by Brian Myers and Pat Buck. Riley has been training at the school, as well as other training with Jay Lethal and Big Kon (aka Konnor of The Ascension) at The Wrestling Lab in Florida.
