Roman Reigns and The Bloodline emerged victorious in the main event of WWE Survivor Series, but “The Tribal Chief” reportedly wasn’t all smiles following the match.
At the premium live event on November 26, Reigns, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos battled Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch in a WarGames Match. In the end, The Bloodline scored the thrilling win.
In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Reigns was “visibly upset” in the aftermath of the match; the word going around was that Reigns had an issue with what seemed like an unplanned spot between him and Kevin Owens. Per sources, Reigns talked about possibly having a ruptured ear drum as he walked backstage, and he noted that he wanted the spot to go as planned. This message was reportedly an “expletive-filled” exclamation, as it was clear that the champion was displeased. There has been no word as to whether a physical altercation took place.
Sapp wrote that sources didn’t believe the incident would lead to any extended heat, as it seemed like Reigns reacted in the heat of the moment. Sources also expressed their expectation that Reigns and Owens will be able to coexist for work moving forward. Another source stated that Reigns and Owens are passionate about their craft, and they would likely speak with each other if there was a problem. It’s also worth noting that Reigns did not participate in the post-show press conference as initially planned.
