Damian Priest was reportedly on Marvel’s radar for their latest blockbuster.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Priest was asked to read for “a significant role” in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Priest, real name Luis Martinez, doesn’t have any apparent acting credits outside of his wrestling career, but sources indicated that he was asked to read for the role of Namor, one of the main characters in the movie, or another important member of Talokan. It’s unclear whether he actually read for the part, but those behind the decision reached out to the WWE star. Ultimately, Priest did not have a role in the movie.
Over the years, stars like John Cena, The Rock, and Batista have successfully crossed over into Hollywood. The Rock’s newest movie, Black Adam, was a hit at the box office, and Bautista will be in “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special”, which will premiere on Disney+ on November 25.
