Bryan Danielson believes that Sprite and Mcdonald’s taste better than anything Genghis Khan ever had in his life.
All Elite Wrestling‘s Bryan Danielson was the latest guest on One Fall with Ron Funches to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if there’s anything his children have taught him recently, Danielson talked about the wonder that they find in everything.
“I’m not somebody who — I don’t get bored ever, right? I’m not on my phone very much. I read at least a book a week. And I can just be sitting there, and I’m not bored at all,” Bryan Danielson said. “Even on planes, I’m on these long flights every week from the west coast to east coast every week, and I never watch shows or anything like that. And I typically don’t get bored, but the sense of wonder that children feel is just inspiring.
“So, for example, last week, my son saw mushrooms growing out of the ground for the first time, like these little mushrooms. It had rained the day before. It was cold but sunny, and I had taken him for a walk, and he’s just a little bit over two. And as we’re in the park, there were all these mushrooms sprouting out of the ground. And he got down on his stomach, and he was just mesmerized by all of them. And just like there’s one, there’s one.
“I picked a couple of them and showed him the underside, the gills of the mushroom, and then a slug was there like kind of moving across the mushrooms, and he was amazed by that. I picked up a worm off the ground that was right there. He was terrified. But I mean just the wonder of it all and the fact that we really don’t know much about mushrooms anyways and the mycelial network and all that kind of stuff. It’s that’s the kind of thing that I learned from my children. Just their ability to be awed by everything.”
Funches agreed and spoke about a friend of his that appreciates the simple things in life, like Sprite. Danielson steers the Sprite mention into a conversation about Genghis Khan, and he might have taken over most of his known world at some point but never tasted anything as good as Sprite or McDonald’s that we, as people, can enjoy today.
“So one of the things that I like to remind my friends all the time is that — and Sprite is a perfect example,” Bryan Danielson continued. “So Genghis Khan took over most of his known world at the time. He never had Sprite. Dude, I’m way richer than Genghis Khan ever was. Like, if he wanted to eat something delicious, it took a long time, and I’m sure he had somebody else cook it for him or whatever it was. But dude, and I don’t eat McDonald’s, but I’m sure I could go into McDonald’s and get something better than he ever ate in his entire life, and that man ruled the world. Right? So yeah, Genghis Khan? Screw him. He never had Sprite.”
