Steve Austin: People Have Been Speculating, But I’m Just Training Hard Because I’m Tired Of Looking Like Shit

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin put on an incredible show at WrestleMania 38, appearing in a full match for the first time in years and seemingly closing out his time in the ring with a win. However, recent reports suggest that Austin has been approached by WWE for another match, and alongside videos that Austin had been posting to Instagram of him working out, excitement about him returning has been high. In a new post on Instagram, Austin addressed the rumors, noting that he simply wanted to start being more healthy in his life.

“People have been speculating, ‘Hey Steve, what are you doing? What are you training for? Are you training for an event?’ I just simply looked in the mirror and realized I look like s—,” said Austin in the post (transcription via Fightful). “So I called my diet coach up and my macros are currently, give or take, roughly around 2650 calories 300-320 grams of protein, 150 grams of carbs on a regular day, will spike at 420 on a load up.

“I still drink beer on Friday nights. Get 3 Broken Skull IPAs and that’s pretty much it. I’m probably, as far as body weight goes, sub-232, the leanest I’ve been in forever. Anyway, I’m out. I just got tired of looking In the mirror, I got tired of looking like s—, so I’m taking action to do something about it. I gotta go. Catch you down the road.”

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, sources have noted that WWE wants Austin to do more with the company, and the new regime has offered the Hall of Famer another match. He competed at WrestleMania 38 under the Vince McMahon regime, but Triple H took over as the head of WWE creative after McMahon retired in July.

Currently, it’s unknown what the future holds for the legendary wrestler, but it does seem like the superstar will be ready for anything should the opportunity arise.
