MJF had a passionate message for the live crowd after the November 16 episode of AEW Dynamite went off the air.
After the broadcast, AEW President Tony Khan came to the ring, and “The Salt of the Earth” took the opportunity to share his thoughts ahead of AEW Full Gear, where he’ll challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship. He admitted that he and Khan haven’t always been on the same page, but he spoke highly of the AEW President for his success in delivering an alterative wrestling product. MJF also seemingly referenced CM Punk by stating that someone took a dump on the company.
“I’d like to get real with you all real quick,” MJF said. “Just give me a second. No bullsh-t. Everybody listen to me real quick. A lot of bullsh-t has gone on. We all know it. We all know. However, let me make something crystal clear. Me and you [talking to Tony Khan], we’ve been at odds once or twice. I’m not gonna stand here and pretend that’s not the case. But there’s something I take issue with that I’ve been seeing lately. Everybody make some noise if you’re a fan of professional wrestling. Now you guys think you’re wrestling fans. Imagine for one second if you have the opportunity to bring your love of professional wrestling out to the world and create an alternative. Would you do it?
“This man, this man right here, busts his ass week in and week out. For not just you, but to give all the boys an opportunity to show the world how much we love professional wrestling! This sh–is not ballet. Every time we get in this ring, we are risking our lives. Do you people understand that? And we don’t take that lightly. And what I damn sure don’t take lightly is somebody coming into my company dropping trowel and taking a dump; that sh-t ain’t happening anymore! Because this is the place, and the only reason why it’s here is because of Tony f-ckin’ Khan.”
MJF went on to describe how, without AEW, the wrestling industry would be a monopoly. He stated that he loves WWE, but everyone’s favorite wrestlers wouldn’t get paid properly if there wasn’t an alternative. He then told Khan that he’s carrying the company, so AEW should pay him in the “bidding war of 2024”, when he’ll enter free agency.
“Without AEW, professional wrestling is a monopoly, and do not get me wrong,” MJF said. “I love WWE, trust me. I love WWE! However, hear me out. Your favorite wrestlers don’t get paid properly and don’t eat properly unless Tony Khan makes that alternative. And I’m now going to finish it with more honesty.
“Tony, I’m just gonna keep it real with you. I’m carrying this goddamn place on my back. And if I were you, I’d pay up in the bidding war of 2024. Connecticut, you motherf-ckers better buy this pay-per-view to witness history because MJF is taking home the gold.”
