Rey Mysterio is reportedly dealing with an injury.
Mysterio last wrestled at a live event in Mexico City on October 30. He recently moved to WWE SmackDown and unsuccessfully challenged Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the November 4 episode of the show, which was taped on October 28.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer confirmed Ringside News‘ report that Mysterio is currently sidelined. He notes that the veteran was set for the SmackDown World Cup, but he was unable to compete due to either san ankle or foot injury. As a result, Mustafa Ali replaced him in the competition. At the November 11 taping of SmackDown, Mysterio was reportedly seen with a walking book on, but he is not expected to miss more than “a few weeks.”
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
