It appears the recent tweets of Braun Strowman following WWE Crown Jewel have rubbed a lot of people in the company the wrong way.
Braun Strowman defeated Omos at WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday, and the match was well received by a majority of the WWE Universe. But Strowman’s tweets following the match have soured many people on The Monster of all Monsters.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), the backstage heat on Strowman in WWE is “very real” right now. While Strowman has been on his best behavior backstage since returning to the company, his social media antics are another story.
One wrestler who spoke to Sapp, that made it clear that they will “never do a flip in their life,” believes the tweets shouldn’t have happened and that professional wrestling needs all types of wrestlers in order to thrive.
“We need them, and they need us. Wrestling is everything. There’s very little truly right and wrong,” the wrestler said. “He didn’t come up in the business doing the things that a lot of those people did, so he probably doesn’t understand.”
Braun Strowman has since deleted all of the problematic tweets that he posted following WWE Crown Jewel and hasn’t been seen on social media in several days.
It’s worth noting that WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett took a shot at Strowman on AEW Dynamite this week, and while many expected Strowman to respond in kind, he’s been radio silent on the matter.
It’s unknown at this time if his absence from Twitter is a WWE mandate or a decision Strowman has made on his own.
