CM Punk is back on the airwaves.
CM Punk was back on commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships on Thursday night, his first official public appearance since AEW All Out in September. Punk’s appearance at CFFC 114 aired live on UFC Fight Pass; he has worked as a commentator for the MMA promotion since its CFFC 71 event in 2018.
Punk has not appeared on AEW TV since the now-infamous post-show brawl at All Out with the Elite, and has been rehabbing a shoulder injury sustained at the event. Punk’s injury was not mentioned on the CFFC broadcast.

The latest reports about CM Punk’s AEW status seem to indicate him not returning to the company. F4WOnline.com reported CM Punk and AEW are in talks to buy out the remaining years of his contract. F4W’s Meltzer also noted that neither Punk nor AEW “commented on, or denied” the story.
Fightful and Wrestling Inc. later reported that there isn’t any active litigation towards Punk in the aftermath of the brawl, and there’s no “working plan” to bring Punk back into the mix.
