Paul Heyman: I Wanted To Have Logan Paul Join WWE When I Was The Executive Director Of WWE RAW

Paul Heyman says he wanted to bring Logan Paul into WWE when he was the Executive Director of WWE RAW.

At WWE Crown Jewel, Paul will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in his third match; the social media star previously made his in-ring debut at WWE WrestleMania 38, and he later faced The Miz at SummerSlam. He started feuding with Reigns on the road to WWE Crown Jewel, and the two stars will collide at the high-profile show.

Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Heyman stated that working with Paul, despite his lack of in-ring experience, was a no-brainer. He revealed that he had pitched the idea of bringing Paul in during his time as the Executive Director of WWE RAW. He described how he noticed that Logan and his brother Jake were disrupting the boxing industry. Heyman also emphasized that The Bloodline and WWE as a whole stand to benefit from the viewers Paul brings with him.

“I didn’t have to think about it all, and neither did Roman Reigns,” Heyman said. “When I was executive director of RAW, I had pitched Logan Paul to the then-chairman Vince McMahon to get involved in a scenario that would ultimately culminate in a SummerSlam or a Survivor Series or a Royal Rumble match. So I had seen the Paul brothers disrupting the boxing industry, from the very beginning when they got involved. They just came in at such a level and with so much fanfare. So this is a no-brainer to ‘The Tribal Chief’ and it’s a no-brainer to his special counsel.

“This is global publicity. This is a chance to take Logan Paul’s audience and put those eyeballs on WWE, and more importantly, on Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman and The Bloodline. Of course the desire is to retain as many eyeballs as possible because we’re trying to seduce them on our brand of entertainment.”
