IMPACT Wrestling Results – October 20, 2022

IMPACT Wrestling kicked off with a recap of last week’s episode, which featured the promo between Bully Ray and IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Josh Alexander.

We see a conversation between Juice Robinson and Chris Bey. They don’t know where Ace Austin is. They eventually find him laid out in the parking lot. Tommy Dreamer tries to assist, but Bullet Club questions where Bully Ray is, implying that he is the one who attacked Ace Austin.

Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray defeated Juice Robinson and Chris Bey of Bullet Club

  • Bully Ray hits the Bully Bomb on Juice Robinson to secure the victory for his team. Following the match, Bully tells Chris Bey he doesn’t know what happened to Ace Austin and insists it wasn’t him.

We hear from Heath and Rhino backstage, who proclaim tonight is the night they become IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions. Rhino promises that he will take The Kingdom straight to hell tonight.

IMPACT returns from a commercial break backstage, and Tommy Dreamer asked Bully Ray to look him in the eyes and tell him that he didn’t lay out Ace Austin. Bully again insists he didn’t do it. Moose enters the locker room and tries to instigate things; Dreamer defends Bully Ray and calls Moose a bastard. Moose said if he attacked Ace Austin, you wouldn’t know it because he’d deny it too.

Taylor Wilde defeated Mia Yim

  • Wilde secured the pinfall victory over Yim with The Wilde Ride.

Mickie James comes out after the match and says that it’s great to have Taylor Wilde back in IMPACT Wrestling. James says she’s been watching Wilde since she debuted for the company in 2007, but this is the first time that both of them share the same locker room.

James tries to challenge Wilde to a match, but they are jumped by VXT and Gisele Shaw, who lay both women out. This brings out Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazo bail out and leave Shaw to get laid out by Grace.

We see Honor No More talking backstage as the show goes to a commercial break.

The show returns with Mickie James, Taylor Wilde, and Jordynne Grace backstage, and they challenge VXT and Gisele Shaw to a six-woman tag team match next week.

Joe Hendry defeated Jason Hoch

  • Hendry wins the match by pinfall with a one-armed spinebuster. The crowd sang his theme song for the majority of the matchup.

The show returned with Scott D’Amore in the ring talking about IMPACT Wrestling’s X-Division. He praised Frankie Kazarian as the first man to hold the X-Division Championship in three different decades. He said he was shocked when Kazarian announced he would exercise Option C to challenge for the IMPACT World Championship. D’Amore brings Kazarian to the ring to make it official.

Kazarian comes out and shakes D’Amore’s hand, and he is reminded that there’s no turning back if Kazarian hands him the championship. D’Amore said there will be an eight-person tournament to crown a new champion and will conclude at Overdrive in November, the same night that Kazarian will challenge for the title.

D’Amore asked Kazarian if he was sure, and he confirmed he has never been more certain in his life, and he hands the title over to D’Amore. Kazarian goes on to talk about the first time he won the X-Division Championship and says this last title reign was just as special to him as his first.

Kazarian said while he loves professional wrestling, it hasn’t always loved him back. He credits IMPACT Wrestling for meeting his wife. He said that his family is proud of him, but he’s not proud of himself because he’s never been a world champion, and that eats away at his stomach.

Before he can finish his promo, he is jumped from behind by Steve Maclin. Josh Alexander comes to Kazarian’s rescue and runs Maclin off. Kazarian thanks Alexander for the assist.

The show goes backstage to see Eddie Edwards arrive at the building. He is approached by both his wife Alisha and Honor No More, who asked him where he’s been. Edwards says he knows either Honor No More Ends or his marriage ends. He said he would let everyone know what would happen later tonight. The show goes to a commercial break.

Backstage, Frankie Kazarian tells Josh Alexander that he can take care of himself and told Alexander not to trust Bully Ray.

Rich Swann defeated Eric Young

  • Swann wins the match with a victory roll on Young. After the match, Violent by Design attacked Swann, but before too much damage could be done, the lights go out. When they come back on, Sami Callihan is in the ring with a baseball bat and runs them off.

We see Heath and Rhino backstage getting ready for their match. They shift to Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, The Major Brothers, who confirm that their new goal is to go after the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles.

Heath and Rhino defeated The Kingdom to become the new IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champions

  • Maria tried to blind Rhino with powder but got Bennett instead. Rhino tried to Gore Taven but hit Maria by accident. This allowed Heath to hit The Wakeup Call on Taven to score the pinfall victory and win the tag team titles.

Eddie Edwards comes out after the match to confront Honor No More in the ring. Edwards said his wife Alisha gave him an ultimatum to either leave the group or lose her. The crowd chants, “Na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!” Edwards questions if Honor No More is worth saving because all he sees is failure. Edwards blames his loss at Bound For Glory on PCO. He asked PCO if he is loyal, and PCO doesn’t answer.

Edwards says PCO is a bitch. PCO snaps and attacks everyone in Honor No More. PCO is the only one left standing as IMPACT Wrestling goes off the air.
