At Crown Jewel, Logan Paul will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He’s supposed to be the babyface, but it might not turn out that way.
Logan Paul was a recent guest on Ryan Satin 1-on-1 to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he feels it’s hard at points to get the WWE Universe to cheer him. Paul admits that he has some heel tendencies in his personality.
“I’ve got what they call heel tendencies, which is true,” Logan Paul began. “I like to ruffle feathers, I like to poke, and at the same time, I’m a nice guy. I love meeting my fans in person, kissing babies making the videos for the birthdays of fans across the world. So I think I’m a bit of a hybrid. At the end of the day, I don’t think it’s deniable that I’m polarizing, if you will.
“You like me, or you hate me, but as long as you’re not indifferent, I’ve done my job. And I think I have done a pretty good job recently of just being myself, and if I’m me, what am I going to do? You like me or not, I don’t care. I’m going to put on a show. You’re going to be entertained, and at the end of the day, you’re gonna respect me. Because I’m gonna hit that Five Star Frog Splash onto the table to absolute perfection, a technique to a degree you’ve never seen before. And you’re gonna be entertained, and that’s my job. That’s what I’m here to do.”
When asked if continuing to get hate for what he’s done in his past is mentally taxing on him, Paul admits he’s given people plenty of reasons not to like him based on what he’s done in his past, but he’s not the same guy he was five years ago.
“The arc of a person’s growth is not always super easy to digest right away,” Logan Paul said. “Make no mistake, I’ve given people plenty of reasons to not like me, and that energy has sat with them, and that’s their sentiment to this day. There’s a bit of unwiring I have to do to show people that hey, I have matured. I’m not the same guy I was five years ago.
“I’m not the same guy I was one year ago, right? Like I’m 27 years old, I consider myself a kid in many ways, and eventually, I’m gonna be an adult. I’m gonna work as hard as I possibly can and as smart as I possibly can to put on the biggest shows that I possibly can, and if you like me, you like me. If you don’t, you don’t; I don’t care as long as you’re entertained. I’ve done my job.”
