AEW has announced a star-studded lineup for the October 26 episode of AEW Dynamite.
As confirmed during the October 18 episode, Bryan Danielson will battle Sammy Guevara. Danielson has been feuding with the Jericho Appreciation Society for months, and he unsuccessfully challenged for Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship twice as part of this rivalry. Most recently, Daniel Garcia cost him the title match on the October 12 episode of Dynamite. Guevara last wrestled on the October 5 episode, where he and Jericho beat Danielson and Garcia.
Speaking of Jericho and Garcia, they will face Danielson’s Blackpool Combat Club stablemates Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli. On Tuesday’s episode of Dynamite, Yuta noted that Garcia is a snake who was using Danielson, and “The American Dragon” should have seen it coming. Plus, Castagnoli is the man Jericho defeated to win the ROH World Championship on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
Elsewhere on the show, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) will face former champions Swerve in our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) in a #1 Contenders Match for the AEW World Championship. FTR currently holds the tag titles in ROH, NJPW, and AAA. They have been AEW’s top-ranked team for months, but they haven’t gotten a shot at the titles. They expressed their intent to challenge for the gold on Tuesday, but Strickland, alongside Lee, interrupted by saying that they’re the rightful challengers. Harwood challenged them to a match to settle the score, and the bout was confirmed for next week.
Finally, Riho will take on Jamie Hayter in a singles match. The former AEW Women’s World Champion returned to Dynamite on Tuesday by saving Toni Storm and Saraya from a beatdown at the hands of Britt Baker, Hayter, and Rebel. This bout will mark the first time since May that Riho will compete in an AEW ring.
