NJPW Strong Card For 10/22: Daniels vs. Uemura, Romero vs. Takagi

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced the card for the October 22 episode of NJPW STRONG.

This week, Rocky Romero will face off against Shingo Takagi in a singles match, Greg Sharpe & Jakob Austin Young will face off against WCWC, and Yuya Uemura and Christopher Daniels will take each other on in a singles match as well.

The preview, courtesy of NJPW’s official website, is as follows:

1st Match: Greg Sharpe & Jakob Austin Young vs West Coast Wrecking Crew (Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson)

In the opening match of the evening, Jakob Austin Young returns to STRONG action along with the debuting Greg Sharpe to take on the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Lessons learned from battling Ren Narita recently, Young wants to get right back on the horse, alongside an experienced partner full of potential, Brian Kendrick student Sharpe. Opposite them though are Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs, who are intent on getting right back to the top of the tag team mountain on STRONG as soon as possible.

2nd Match: Yuya Uemura vs Christopher Daniels

One of the most positive stories on NJPW STRONG in recent months was that of Yuya Uemura and Christopher Daniels’ Cinderella run in the STRONG Openweight Tag team Championship tournament. Yet when Daniels’ hope of another addition to his glittering career of achievements was dashed, the frustration of the veteran boiled over. A low blow and a pair of BMEs later, and a promising mentor and protege relationship was destroyed. Now Uemura wants revenge and the chance to strike out on his own in the process, but can he defeat a decorated veteran in the Fallen Angel to get there?

Main event: Rocky Romero vs Shingo Takagi

As Shingo Takagi and El Phantasmo’s KOPW 2022 match in New York City this month has just been made official, Shingo heads to Las Vegas wanting a piece of his large adult ‘son’, but instead finds himself face to face with Rocky Romero. Rocky knows what it’s like to get the upper hand over the much-hated ELP, and might be able to give the Dragon a hint or two here tonight, but it may be a tough main event for Mr. Azucar in Vegas.
