Paul London is taking bookings again.
In the past, London has wrestled for WWE, ROH, PWG, and Lucha Underground, among other promotions. He is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and WWE Tag Team Champion. London hasn’t regularly wrestled since 2018, but he is seemingly ready to return to the ring.
Speaking on Cafe de Rene with Renee Dupree, he announced that he’s taking bookings again because he wants to help people.
“I have come to a conclusion, a slight announcement so to speak,” London said. “Effective immediately, I will begin entertaining and accepting bookings again to return to the ring. I was feeling fairly irresponsible, I think. We get on here and we talk about different wrestlers and different wrestling promotions and this and this. But I’m kind of at a point where I feel it’s a responsibility to do what I can to help the current generation and the younger generation.
“If I can help in any way, whether it’s helping then have the light bulbs go off or teach them how to preserve their bodies or their careers, or to not do stupid s*** or to not sit there waiting for hours for someone to dive onto them, I’d like to help. It’s easy to point out all the things that are wrong and all the things that could be better in the current wrestling scene. But it’s a whole other thing to actually get in there and apply yourself and do what you can to help people.”
The veteran noted that he has knowledge, given his lengthy career, and he wants to share it. He stated that he has been training and gearing up for a return to competition because he misses wrestling. He also dismissed the notion that he was retired and emphasized that he loves wrestling. London went on to compare himself to NBA star Blake Griffin.
“I’ve been working out and training, and I had a match a couple weeks ago that wasn’t as horrible as I expected it to be, for having quite a bit of a layoff. But there was just all this thought that I had retired and everything. That was never the case. I will never, as far as I can tell, I will never say, you know, you know what? It’s time to retire. I love professional wrestling.
“I love professional wrestling more than people probably realize…. I miss wrestling. I miss a lot of the travel. I miss going to towns you didn’t know existed. I miss interacting with fans. I miss a lot of different aspects of being in a locker room. Pro wrestling is just something that I’ll always love. It’s how I’ve supported myself for half my life. I still have quite a bit in the tank. I think I’m kind of at the Blake Griffin part of my career right now, where I can still do a lot of things. Maybe I won’t be dunking over KIAs, but yeah, I’d like to think I still have a lot to offer to any locker room if they’re smart enough.”
