Nigel McGuinness has been released by WWE.
PWInsider.com first reported Nigel McGuinness was released by the company on Friday; Fightful later confirmed the initial report. It was noted by PWInsider that McGuinness’ release took place earlier this week.
McGuinness signed with WWE in 2016 and made his debut calling the WWE United Kingdom Classic. During his tenure, McGuinness also worked on the commentary team for the NXT, NXT UK, WWE Main Event and 205 Live brands. Most recently, McGuinness was a color commentator for NXT UK and NXT Level Up.
WWE announced its new commentary team lineups on Thursday; the new lineups will take effect during WWE’s season premiere week beginning on Friday.
