Jordynne Grace Picks Masha Slamovich’s Poison, Recalls Backstage Sellout Match

The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching and they come recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Jordynne Grace, who was tasked with another “Pick Your Poison” scenario in regards to her Bound For Glory challenger, Masha Slamovich. Grace chose Allie Kat as Masha’s opponent in Monster’s Ball, and was asked in a new interview with WrestleZone to pick a favorite Masha match.

“Obviously, a lot of the matches that she’s had an IMPACT have been like 30 seconds long. But the match that actually got her signed with Deonna [Purrazzo], probably a little bit over a year ago now, was really, really good. I think it was a backstage monitor sellout. That was one I remember very well,” Grace explained. “And then her most recent one with Deonna was more intense. I think that the longer she’s been in IMPACT, the more intense she’s gotten and the more she’s kind of found her footing. But those two matches, I think both of them with Deonna actually were both really, really great matches.”

Grace also shared her thoughts on Masha Slamovich’s IMPACT run so far, and if it’s allowed her to prepare for her Knockouts Title bout at Bound For Glory.

“I think she’s an incredible wrestler. I think that she’s definitely — they’ve been putting it over on Twitter as two of the most intense, unrelenting Knockouts facing off of all time, facing off. I do feel that way. I feel like we both yell a lot in our matches. We’re both very intense. And I’m mostly just excited to test myself against her.

“Not many people know this because it happened a long time ago. But when I first got to IMPACT, she and I actually had a match for [Xplosion]. It was kind of before she found herself, before she — I don’t know what happened. I guess maybe she started doing death matches or hardcore matches,” Grace explained. “I think that puts you on a different plane of existence, in all honesty. So I think I wrestled her before and I know who she was before. But most importantly, I think I’m prepared for this match. I’ve been training, I’ve been studying matches, I’ve been studying her, so I think I’m more than ready.”
