Tommaso Ciampa has ties with The Miz that go a lot deeper than anyone could have thought.
WWE RAW Superstar Tommaso Ciampa recently spoke with Graham Matthews of WrestleRant to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about teaming up with The Miz on the main roster, Ciampa revealed that he’s actually living out his older brother’s dream because Miz is his favorite wrestler.
“So I’m living my brother’s dream because The Miz is 100% his favorite wrestler,” Tommaso Ciampa said. “This is not a joke, [my] older brother. So this is true as could be. I had to get Miz’s number so I could send them this text a couple of years ago. But I was like, ‘Hey, it’s my brother’s birthday. Probably a weird request, but a totally normal 38-year-old dude, couple of kids, wife. But he’d love it if you just said happy birthday.’ I didn’t really know Miz that well at the time, and he literally sent this face time message thing.
“So it’s funny how he’s kind of played a weird like, not many people would know, but he’s played a role in my career. And, personally, I’m a big fan too. It’s kind of easy for me to talk about hey two-time Grand Slam champion, the guy who main evented WrestleMania. When you’re a wrestler, when you’re in the trenches, you have to face adversity. You appreciate Miz; that’s a dude who faced adversity and has overcome. So yeah, it’s been organic. It’s been simple. And you know, the best is yet to come.”
