Tommaso Ciampa is trying to apply the same formula on the WWE main roster that he used in NXT when it comes to his trajectory.
WWE RAW Superstar Tommaso Ciampa spoke with Graham Matthews of WrestleRant to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about how he goes about making the most of his minutes right now on WWE RAW as the tag team partner of The Miz, Ciampa believes that the slow burn is part of what makes him who he is as a WWE Superstar.
“I appreciate it. And it’s just it just comes with reps and experience,” Tommaso Ciampa said. “I think maturity-wise and where I’m at in my personal life and my career. This is the right time to do it. And it was the right time; this is my M.O. Slow-burn is my M.O. It’s not like I walked into NXT on day one and was the champion. We were two guys, Johnny [Gargano] and I, who weren’t signed who were trying to just prove ourselves. I had the matches back then with Tyler Breeze, and Bull Dempsey, and Vaudevillians and stuff. So it’s the same thing. You just chip away, chip away, chip away. And that turned out really well for me. So I’m just gonna apply the same formula to the main roster.”
When asked about his progression from being in NXT to the WWE main roster, Ciampa said he’s loved the process and loves the stories that everyone gets to tell in the world of professional wrestling.
“For me with wrestling, it’s the process is what I’ve always loved,” Tommaso Ciampa said. “I love that everybody has their individual stories. I love that I’ve had over 18 years to create my own story. And I liked that this is a big part of it. Like just the timing of the main roster was perfect. Doing SummerSlam on the main roster is far different than doing it with NXT Takeovers. It’s been a blast this week. Like, I got to participate in a lot of cool community outreach stuff. It’s just been awesome. I brought my wife and Willow with us, and it’s just been great.”
